What is cashmere?
The fine (dehaired) undercoat fibres produced by a goat (Capra Hircus Laniger). This goat lives at altitudes above 12,000 feet. At this altitude, the natural Pashmina fibers are extremely fine, between 10-15 microns in diameter, or 6-8 times thinner than a human hair. Cashmere is the most luxurious natural fibre in the world.
Where is our products made?
Many countries produce cashmere garments, especially cheaper products are made in China. We have partnerships with a few manufacturers in Nepal and can guarantee that all our products are the finest quality and made in Nepal.
How can I be sure of the quality?
We only work with a few suppliers in Nepal that we trust 100% and they produce to our specifications. The wool is chosen very carefully. The cashmere wool is hand-woven and hand-dyed to give the best quality garment. Furthermore, we regularly have our products tested by SGS http://www.uk.sgs.com/
Difference between 100% Cashmere and blended 70% Cashmere / 30% Silk
The silk adds a sheen and weight to the garment which some customers prefer. We use the best grade of silk (210) blended with the best cashmere wool. You will not be disappointed with the quality! You can wear the blended 70% cashmere 30% silk for special occasions (wedding, baptism, birthday, Valentine's day) or everyday life. Some people prefer 100% cashmere. The garment is lighter, not shiny, incredibly soft and warm. We recommend the 100% cashmere mainly for everyday wear.
How can I clean my Cashmere garment? Can I use a washing machine?
We recommend that cashmere products are dry cleaned. However, cashmere can be hand washed and even some gentle washing machines have soft programs suitable for cashmere wash. REMEMBER dry always cashmere flat and never use tumble dryer.
How accurate is our pictures/colours?
Although we have tried our hardest to match the correct colour garment with those shown on our colour chart, the colour may vary slightly from the colour shown on your computer screen. A slight colour deviation may occur due to the settings of different computers and variations of light.
